Since pajama culture has become a staple not only for those who continue to WFH long-term but also those who are venturing to the nightclubs and dinner parties in fancy PJs. No matter what you're doing in them, there's no such thing as ever being too comfortable.
"[When shopping for pajamas,] it's all up to personal preference and what you want to call your 'PJ Vibe,'" says stylist Sheyna Imm. "I think just looking for something that feels unique and good to you [is important], whether that be slim-fit or loose, two pieces or one dress, silk or silk blends—it's your world."

What to Look for When Buying Pajamas
Fabric
Cotton, silk, or synthetic? The material you choose in your pajamas will determine how well they work for you. Coordinate your pajama fabric choices with the season, opting for more breathable and cool materials in cooler months, and sturdier, warmer fabrics in colder times. Even within single fabrics, such as silk, there may be significant differences.
Quality
Is longevity a priority for you, or do you prefer trendy styles and patterns? How long you want your pajamas to last should be a factor in what you decide to pay for them. As with anything in life, if it's too good a deal to be true, it probably is.
Fit
If you're purchasing pajamas online, it's important to check the sizing chart. That will help ensure your new PJs won't be heading right back into a return envelope. Beyond that, know what you're looking for when it comes to silhouette so that you're not disappointed when a set looks as comfortable as it feels.
Care
From fabric bleeding to hand washing, know what you're getting into before you get into your new pajamas. If a pair is hand wash or dry clean only, be prepared to spend that time or money on their upkeep. Read the care instructions closely before committing.
Choose a fabric that's appropriate for the season you're in so that your pajamas don't make you too hot or too hold. Additionally, select a fit that will stay comfortable for all the hours you'll be wearing them—although there's nothing wrong with having extra PJs on hand purely for their cuteness.
"Silk is preferred for bedtime for the slippery transitions when changing positions in sleep," says Imm. "Silk naturally moves with your body, whereas cotton and other materials don't move as effortlessly against the materials of your sheets and blankets." Silk is also a top choice for pajamas due to its ability to thermoregulate.
Linen is lightweight but durable enough to last a long time. And of course, cotton breathes well, making it too a top choice. Polyester is less breathable and not recommended if you lean warm when sleeping.
Where once we may have only worn pajamas to sleep in, current culture dictates that these guys get a lot of daytime wear. It depends what you're doing in your pajamas, really. If you sweat a lot in your sleep, they should be in the wash after one session, and if you aren't showering often, you'll want to change them more frequently too. Otherwise, every few days or a max of one week is considered fine.
